Improving the Outcomes in Oncological Colorectal Surgery

Aim: To evaluate the improvement in outcomes oncological colorectal surgery. Study Design: Prospective study, Place & duration of study: Department General Surgery, LUMHS Jamshoro from 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2022. Methodology: One hundred and fifty cases cancer undergoing surgery were enrolled. They multidisciplinary requiring compliance surgeons at operating room with their surgical teams. These interventions based on sequential implementation evidence-based site infection bundle (SSIB) enhanced recovery after (ERAS) protocols for all patients Primary evaluated hospital stay as well rate complication accordance wound healing. Inverse proportional-weighting method was used controlling possible variance within groups. The secondary outcome measures post strategies mortality day 30, readmission same period (30 days) or unplanned return table numerous related complications. Results: mean age group A (pre-ERAS pre-SSIB) 61.2±10.9 years while B post-SSIB) 61.8±9.9 Group C (post-ERAS 63.7±10.1 years. There more females three groups such 60%, 56% 54% respectively than males. Hospital highest A. 30 days showed that number death, blood transfusion however difference insignificant other variable except infection.
